For Disney Cruise Line guests wanting a touch of luxury while visiting Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay, obtaining a cabana is a fun option!
Each DCL cabana at Castaway Cay and at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is furnished with a small couch, table, chairs, a curtained changing area, a refrigerator for beverages, a safe, a ceiling fan, towels, cool face cloths and sunscreen. The windows have shutters that can be propped open for more airflow. Outside on the shaded patio are cushioned chaise lounges. There is a hammock and in many cases a freshwater shower.
Fresh fruit and snacks are included along with complimentary bottled water and soft drinks. If you need more, your cabana host can assist. The host will not bring food to your cabana. Instead, head to the outside eateries at Castaway or on Lookout. Each cabana includes the use of snorkeling equipment, float or tube, sand toys and one hour of bike rental per Guest. Your cabana attendant will give you all the details, so definitely ask if you have any questions. The cabanas have tablets that you can use to listen to music and request service from your host.
Portable cribs are available upon request. This certainly comes in handy when the wee ones need to take a nap. The sun can be exhausting, so expect others (not just the littles) to take a snooze break inside your cabana.
Know Before You Go
Pricing Varies! Cabanas range in price from around $500 to $1500 per day depending on the type of cabana and the cruise season.
Based on availability, cabanas can be pre-reserved online by going to My Cruise Activities In your Disney Cruise Line account. The order of reserving a cabana is based on concierge and castaway club status.
Concierge: 130 days prior to embarkation via an email sent to shoreside starting right at midnight EST - every second counts so go by the world clock.
Pearl: 123 days prior.
Platinum: 120 days prior.
Gold: 105 days prior.
Silver: 90 days prior.
New Cruisers: 75 days prior.
Cabanas book up very quickly since there are so few of them. Typically, they are all reserved by Concierge-level guests and Pearl Castaways. If at first you don't succeed, keep checking.
When booking online, only guests in the same stateroom as the person booking the cabana can be added to the reservation. Private cabanas are available for all ages. Children under the age of 3 years old are included in the total party size, even though there is no additional charge to add them.
If you want to add guests to your reservation who are not in your stateroom, visit Guest Services once on board to assist with adding and charging the additional people. You will be given wristbands that indicate your cabana status and they are typically delivered the night before the ship reaches Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay.
There is no cabana waitlist -- this is a fairly recent change. If a guest cancels a cabana, it will pop back up on the DCL website in the port adventure section. Also, at embarkation, head to the Guest Services to inquire about cabana availability as cancellations do happen. On occasion, Disney Cruise Line holds a cabana back (could be for a media shoot or some sort of private event) so it never hurts to inquire when you first board the ship.
